The time for Hudson to go to kindergarten is here! Wow, what a hard week for me. Lol! I did even worse than I thought I would. Hudson was so very excited to go on Tuesday before he started school on Wednesday. He even asked to go to bed at 7:30 pm the night before! He woke up on his own the next morning at 6:30 am. He couldn't wait to go, but when we got there he decided that he didn't want me to leave. He never cried, but broke my heart when he begged me not to leave him. Wednesday was probably the LONGEST day of my life! I got in the car line an hour early- I was so ready to squeeze my little boy. When I picked him up the first thing he told me was "Mama, I didn't get any friends at school today" (which broke my heart into a million pieces). The next few things out of his mouth were also pretty negative about school- yucky lunch, mean boy in his room, and how they didn't get to go outside on the playground because of the heat. Long story short, he had a rough first day. On Thursday, he seemed to have a much better day! On Friday, I couldn't walk him into the BIG school. They asked all moms to drop off their kids in the car line, so they could learn where to go by themselves. Hudson was so scared on Friday morning. He worried himself sick all the way to school. He did it all by himself though! Avery Claire made it worse that day, because as soon as the teacher opened the door to help him out of the car- she started screaming and crying to the top of her lungs, "No Bubba- don't go, don't go". So far, Mama has cried all three days, but not a drop in front of Hudson. Every mother just wants to know her kid is safe & happy during the day. He told me several times this week that he was shy at school. We prayed together everyday on the way to school asking God to take away his worries & his fears. His teacher, Mrs. Ward, sent me the sweetest note on Friday night telling me that he had a great week and seemed to really enjoy himself at school. She also put in the note that he played great by himself & with friends in his class. He was very proud of himself that he stayed on green everyday this week and he loved telling me how others in his class had to get moved to yellow (warning color). Lol. I am also very impressed by what he is already coming home sharing. Last night, he was teaching Avery Claire the R-E-D song that he learned at school. He was so proud of himself because he knew how to spell the word- red. Toni, his teacher, also told me that Hudson was a "pleaser", meaning he wants her to be happy with him. Right now, she is definitely his most favorite part of school & I sure hope it stays that way!
Precious card that Mrs. Ward gave Hudson for the night before Kindergarten. It had a packet of magic confetti to help take his fears away so he could sleep well the night before school.
Listening to Daddy reading his Night before Kindergarten card. He also had a book that Nana got him as well.

Avery got to stay at home on Hudson's first day of school, but we wanted a picture of them together before he left.
