Star of the Week Award!!!

Last week was kind of a rocky week for my little man at kindergarten, due to an incident in the boy's bathroom with a 4th grader. This happened early in the week, so it made it difficult to get him to want to go last week. He LOVES his teacher & the kids in his class! We are still HATING the car line everyday, but I know we will move past this soon. On Friday afternoon, I see him walking to my car ALL SMILES! Mrs. Ward gave the first Star of the Week Award to Hudson. He was so excited!!! Along with the poster, came a bunny named Hopscotch that got to visit us over the weekend. He was so very proud of himself for staying on green every day so far. Bless his heart, he is really not used to not getting in trouble at school. Lol! I am just thrilled that he got this now, hoping it will give him the boost he needs to like school. Guess we will see.... He worked so hard on the poster all weekend! He knew that he had to finish the entire thing by himself. The only thing that I did to help was help him spell a few of the words that he wanted to write.

On Friday when he got the poster!

Started right to work as soon as we got home

Hanging out with Hopscotch! We had to journal everything that we did with Hopscotch & take pictures so Hudson can share with Mrs. Ward's class tomorrow.

Avery was tired of me taking pics of Hudson & Hopscotch, so she had to take one with her best pal, Eeyore.

More of Hudson & Hopscotch!

He did a really good job on his poster! The only word that he kind of ran together was "swimming" under the hobbies section. I found out in doing this that he wants to be Batman when he grows up! Ha. Glad he is striving high!

Time for "Big Kid" School

The time for Hudson to go to kindergarten is here! Wow, what a hard week for me. Lol! I did even worse than I thought I would. Hudson was so very excited to go on Tuesday before he started school on Wednesday. He even asked to go to bed at 7:30 pm the night before! He woke up on his own the next morning at 6:30 am. He couldn't wait to go, but when we got there he decided that he didn't want me to leave. He never cried, but broke my heart when he begged me not to leave him. Wednesday was probably the LONGEST day of my life! I got in the car line an hour early- I was so ready to squeeze my little boy. When I picked him up the first thing he told me was "Mama, I didn't get any friends at school today" (which broke my heart into a million pieces). The next few things out of his mouth were also pretty negative about school- yucky lunch, mean boy in his room, and how they didn't get to go outside on the playground because of the heat. Long story short, he had a rough first day. On Thursday, he seemed to have a much better day! On Friday, I couldn't walk him into the BIG school. They asked all moms to drop off their kids in the car line, so they could learn where to go by themselves. Hudson was so scared on Friday morning. He worried himself sick all the way to school. He did it all by himself though! Avery Claire made it worse that day, because as soon as the teacher opened the door to help him out of the car- she started screaming and crying to the top of her lungs, "No Bubba- don't go, don't go". So far, Mama has cried all three days, but not a drop in front of Hudson. Every mother just wants to know her kid is safe & happy during the day. He told me several times this week that he was shy at school. We prayed together everyday on the way to school asking God to take away his worries & his fears. His teacher, Mrs. Ward, sent me the sweetest note on Friday night telling me that he had a great week and seemed to really enjoy himself at school. She also put in the note that he played great by himself & with friends in his class. He was very proud of himself that he stayed on green everyday this week and he loved telling me how others in his class had to get moved to yellow (warning color). Lol. I am also very impressed by what he is already coming home sharing. Last night, he was teaching Avery Claire the R-E-D song that he learned at school. He was so proud of himself because he knew how to spell the word- red. Toni, his teacher, also told me that Hudson was a "pleaser", meaning he wants her to be happy with him. Right now, she is definitely his most favorite part of school & I sure hope it stays that way!

Precious card that Mrs. Ward gave Hudson for the night before Kindergarten. It had a packet of magic confetti to help take his fears away so he could sleep well the night before school.

Listening to Daddy reading his Night before Kindergarten card. He also had a book that Nana got him as well.

My Sweet Boy!

Avery got to stay at home on Hudson's first day of school, but we wanted a picture of them together before he left.

Because I Am Bored To Tears Post....

My hubby is playing basketball with a group of guys from the church & my kids are sleeping, so I am posting pictures that no one really cares to see except for me! I got a new camera several weeks ago & I am just now taking the time to look at all my pictures over the past few weeks. Even though we have been in this tiny apartment since June, we have had a pretty good summer. I am so very thankful for each & every second that I get to spend with these three!!!

Happy 34th Birthday to Daddy!!!

LOVE this Snaggletooth Smile!!!

Sassy wanted to take a picture too!

Goofy Kids!!!

We were having a picnic in the living room & a song came on TV. He definitely got his Daddy & Uncle Jason's rhythm. He can really dance!

This one cracks me up!!! Breaking it down- Chef Hats & all.

Avery's latest obsession- PUZZLES!!! She only wants to do "the hard ones". I have to say- she is pretty darn good at them. This is a 100 piece puzzle that she can do on her own after we helped her the first few times! She only does it about 75 times a day. (Yes- I am a dork with a globe & sight words hanging in the background. Trying hard to make sure my kids have some sense! Ha)

This Week

Avery Claire had her first dance lesson this week at Vicki's Dance in Bossier. I wasn't exactly sure how she would like it, but she had so much fun! I know that her excitement could have been based on the fact that they gave her candy at the end of class. Lol. This child never stops dancing! Her favorite song is a Fresh Beat song that comes on TV every five minutes. I am going to share a video of her dancing when I have more time!

I have had several family members ask me to post a picture of our new house on facebook. I don't plan to do that, but I wanted to share one on here. It is still hard for me to get excited about it, since I know we still have at least 3 more months in this apartment.... Nevertheless, it is starting to look way more like a house and less like a lot! We took the kids this evening & let them see their new rooms. They were so excited!!!

We have Hudson's Open House tomorrow at Legacy. We just found out that his teacher for kindergarten is going to be Mrs. Ward! I do not know her personally, but I have had her on my prayer list for months. She lost her precious baby girl, Katie Caroline, just a few months ago to Crohn's Disease. She was only a year older than Hudson. At the time, she was actually in Kindergarten at Legacy with her mom as her teacher. I know only through the grace of God can she return to teach this year. I have prayed for Hudson to have the "perfect" teacher for him for some time now. It is so crazy to me that I still pray for this lady & her family daily and now she will be my son's first real teacher. I will continue to pray for her daily, because I can't even imagine how she gets out of bed each day. Everyone says that she is a fabulous teacher & person and I am thrilled that my little man has her as his teacher!
