Tis the Season!

Like everyone, we have been extremely busy in the month of December. I LOVE this time of year and so do my babies! I posted quite a few pictures of the past few weeks in December. We just had Hudson's Pirate themed Christmas party at Legacy. It was so much fun for the kids! They got to do several different activities: decorated cookies, made reindeer food, painted ornaments with their hand prints, and they had a visit from the Legacy Bear who brought each child their own personalized letter. Mrs. Ward sent a survey home with each parent a few weeks ago & they used this to generate a letter from one of Santa's Elves. This made Hudson's day!!! It also made Avery's too, because it said that she was on the "nice list". We also had Avery Claire's Christmas program & party at her school. She sang her little heart out! So cute. We did the Polar Express Train ride for the 3rd year in a row. I have a feeling we will take them every year until they tell us that they do not want to go! They were very excited to go this year, because their Nana & Pepere (Daniel's parents) got to come with us. Hudson was a little disappointed that he didn't get to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas on this trip, but we went to see Santa today & Hudson told him a list! Lol. I didn't think he was ever going to let Avery talk. Daniel and I also got to go to our Sunday School class Tacky Christmas Sweater party while Daniel's parents watched the kids. We really never go on dates without our kids, so we had a great time- even if we were only gone for a little while. Daniel shopped for our shirts & bought some that said "Snow in Love". Ha! I also posted a picture of Sweet Annabelle at her 4th Birthday party. It was a circus theme party & was precious! Sorry for the long post, but I am having trouble putting captions under my pictures, so I was trying to cover everything in my post. I hope you are all having a wonderful December so far! We have a lot planned this week to prepare for Jesus Birthday party this next weekend!!! My mom did a great job when we were growing up to make sure that gifts didn't over shadow the REAL reason for the season. Don't get me wrong- we still got way too much stuff, but she always made sure that we got it! I remember one Christmas that fell on a Sunday- none of us kids wanted to go to church because we wanted to stay home & play with our toys. She threw us in the car & took us to church. I hope & pray that we are doing the same for our kids and YES-we will be in church this coming Sunday on Christmas Day... God willing!!!

Thanksgiving in Arka!

We had a great time in Arkansas for Thanksgiving. Our kids always have a blast because there are always kids to play with! They had so much fun wrestling, playing house, picking up pecans and fighting over LSU/Arka. We have so many things to be thankful for this year. I have to share a Hudson story from today... We have been talking for the last few weeks about going to help feed the homeless with our church in downtown Shreveport. We weren't sure when the church would go again. It ended up being today, which happened to be one of our best friend child's birthday. We gave Hudson the choice to go feed the homeless or to go to Annabelle's birthday party. He said that he wanted to go help give the people food, because it would make Jesus's heart happy. (He did ask if Mrs. Emily would still give him a goodie bag! Lol) Like most parents, we try SO hard to teach our kids to be humble & have compassion. We also know that we have to teach our children to serve others. I took Avery Claire to Annabelle's party & Daniel took Hudson to serve. He said that he did a great job with everyone there. Hudson has talked & talked about it. We are going to do our best to try to do this once a month when our church goes.

Our New Home!

We are FINALLY in our new house & out of the apartment. Praise the Lord!!! We are no where near settled, but it is already feeling a little more like home. This is a hard time of year to move into a new home. I can't decide if I need to be unpacking boxes or decorating for Christmas. We haven't really bought anything for Christmas except one or two items for the kids online. The kids are absolutely loving being out of the apartment! They are living upstairs in Daniel's bonus room & outside on the trampoline. They now have a play room, which they are never really in... I am fine with that though! It wouldn't be home if we weren't stepping on toys every two seconds.

Another Avery Story...

Avery Claire had a Thanksgiving Feast at her school this week. She was so excited to have Daniel and I there! Below is a picture of us at lunch. Later that afternoon, I had to take Hudson to the dentist for his 6 month cleaning. Avery had to come with us because Daniel wasn't off work yet. Our precious Dental Hygienist was talking to Hudson asking him if he bit his fingernails, which is a horrible habit that I am sad to say that I passed on to my kids. Candi was explaining to Hudson how biting your fingernails wears your teeth down, etc- when Avery blurts out "I BITE MY FINGERNAILS & PICK MY NOSE"!!! When you have kids, there is no such thing as pride. Well, at least she is honest.

DRESS UP!!!

It is so funny to watch your children go through phases of different things. Hudson's most favorite thing in the world to do RIGHT NOW is play football with Daddy. They go outside everyday to play football- "LSU vs Alabama". Just a few weeks ago, it was soccer. Avery has been on a baby kick for over a year now. Everywhere we go, a baby doll has to go with us. Her most recent obsession is playing dress up. This child runs in every single day, throws her clothes on the ground & goes for her dress up box. I just wanted to share a few pictures from the last few days. And yes... we are still APT living. Can't you tell by the mess everywhere? I am really going to miss not having to keep things straightened up!!!
